Sen Austin Akobundu

The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu has given assurances that he will live up to expectations as he is aware of the high expectations of the people of his senatorial district.

Akobundu, speaking after his oath-taking and swearing-in at the Senate during a reception  held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja, expressed his gratitude, and also his conviction of a greater Abia Central Senatorial District under his watch.

However, regardless of all the political permutations, I didn't bulge."

Akobundu conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the PDP  for standing steadfastly by him through thick and thin, noting how the different cadres of the party management threw their weight behind him to ensure his success throughout the process.

"Today, I stand before you as your senator. I am not going to be a Senator of PDP, APC, APGA, Labour, AA, or any other political party. I will be a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing the good and decent people of Abia Central Senatorial District.

"I have already commenced my duties and I will continue to be accountable for my stewardship.

"Senate is an assignment for me, not an ambition." He submitted
