The chairman of  Ikwuano LGA chapter  of Labour Party, LP, Mr Bright Chimezie Nwagbo is currently running from pillar to post begging for mercy as Abia State Governor Alex Otti has ordered for his immediate removal.

Dailyledger.com.ng gathered that Nwagbo's trouble started when he dragged some heavyweights in his LG into controversy over the yet to be announced Transition Committee list for the 17 LGs in the State.

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that Nwagbo went gaga in  a social media post, titled: 'Abia: Ikwuano LP members protest attempt to impose list of LGA chairman, councilors on them, call on Gov. Otti to Act'.

Nwagbo who conscripted  some ward chairpersons and party loyalists into his plot has been accused  of being sponsored by the opposition PDP to cause disharmony in Ikwuano LP which swept off  the PDP from all positions in the last General Elections.

It was gathered that Nwagbo who was present when the LG stakeholders made nominations, later turned round to not only deny that list but also alleged that his signature on the list of TC nominations submitted to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy  Affairs was forged.

A top party leader who refused to be named revealed that the post which went  viral provoked the governor who ordered for his immediate removal

As the State Chairman of LP, Mr Ceekay Igara moved to perfect his removal through due process, Nwagbo had been on his knees before any party stalwart he believes had the ears of the governor.

One of the members of the State Executive Council, SEC of Abia LP confided to this reporter that Nwagbo acted on his own and seemed to be on a mission to cause crisis in Ikwuano, but his case has been decided, and he seems to be sober now..."He has now realized that there is an SEC member from his LG, he has called me severally to intervene, but it's too late"

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that besides the latest social media outing over two weeks ago, Nwagbo had in June, 2023, in a  'Letter of Disclaimer and Withdrawal of  Consent" made the same allegations when the Ikwuano leaders and stakeholders met to make the selections. He was later overruled by the party state chairman, Ceekay Igarra and he withdrew the letter.

The social media outing took several leaders of the party by surprise and they all kept mum over the issue, however the leader of the party in Ikwuano, Dr Monday Ubani while reacting to the allegations said "Mr Nwagbo is childish. He can not appropriate and reprobate at the same time, he cannot blow hot and cold at the same time. As a leader, he ought to be known for consistency and integrity.

"Nwagbo appended his signature to a the resolutions of a meeting where he made inputs, he later recanted and then made a U-turn...now he is going back to his vomit. He just showed that he is untrustworthy, inconsistent and cannot be trusted as a leader"
