Two days, before 2023 ended, the amiable, work driven Leader of For Us By Us, FUBU, Comrade Chika Ishionwu was honoured with the High Chief title of 'Ugwumba I of Ikwuano/Umuahia Supreme Traditional Rulers Council



The ceremony which held at the Palace of HRM King Larry Agwu, the Ajata of Ajata-n-Igu attracted virtually who is who in the Ikwuano and Umuahia.



Traditional rulers and community leaders drawn across the Ikwuano/Umuahia Supreme Traditional Rulers Council gathered to confer on him the chieftaincy title 'Ugwumba 1'

Loosely translated, Ugwumba means 'worthy envoy or the prestige of his people'

 HRH Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu and HRH King Larry Agwu, who presided over the ceremony explained that Ishionwu was honoured for   exemplifing  'true symbol of leadership and benevolence in our community'



"This conferment is heartwarming acknowledgement of your remarkable accomplishments which positively impacted the lives of countless individuals," they earlier stated in a letter announcing the ceremony 




It further added: "The decision to bestow this noble chieftaincy upon you is a testament to your exemplary leadership, unwavering strength and steadfast commitment to the betterment of both community and humanity at large.


"Your contributions, particularly through your commendable efforts in organizing free medical outreach programmes, your profound influence on the younger generation and especially your extensive philanthropic endeavors have not gone unnoticed".


Ishionwu is the  facilitator of the For Us By Us,  FUBU political movement making waves in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State 


With the beautiful feathers to adorn his cap, the FUBU proffers, it will motivate him to reach for yet greater heights  in the  betterment of Abia youths even as he urges  them to remain steadfast, calm and to collaborate with FUBU, as a movement to advance   their dreams and aspirations.


In line with his populist inclinations, Omenanwata as he is fondly called has been involved in a weeklong programme consisting of celebrations of the honour being done him and in the spirit of the season. The programme beginning December 28, 2023 to January 4, 2024  also include empowerment and other forms of socialisation for both youths  and women.
