Another feather was  added to Dr Monday Ubani's hat  on Sunday in  recognition of his dogged, consistent interventions in  proffering constitutional and legal enlightenment on knotty democratic and political issues, by the Lagos-based magazine, The Baggage.

Publisher/Editor-In-Chief of The Baggage magazine, Pastor Okey Iroegbu, while conferring 'The Leadership Award' on Dr Ubani said it is in recognition of his political activism and  and dynamic engagement with other stakeholders in the liberation of Abia State from a political clique which has held the State hostage for the past 24 years.

"It is only fitting we honour Dr Ubani with this award as part of the programme for the inauguration and swearing-in of Abia state LP governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti on May 29, 2023

"It is instructive to note that Dr Ubani rejected the toga of another armchair critic and took to the streets to preach for leadership change in Abia. And we hereby acknowledge his leadership role here in Ikwuano LGA in delivering victory to LP in Ikwuano LG in particular and Abia State in general", Pastor Iroegbu said while presenting the award to Dr. Ubani in his country home at Awomukwu,  Ikwuano LG.

Iroegbu, who also hails  from the same LG as the legal luminary further added that there is merit in according honour to a prophet, even in his home.

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that Dr Ubani,  chairman of Section on Public Interest and Development Law, NBA–SPIDEL and former second vice president of the NBA has   etched his mark on the polity as a social critic and commentator on national issues, and  recently upped his game by joining forces with other political progressives to enthrone a new order in Abia State which for the last 24 years groaned under inept and clueless leadership
