Abia State Governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti, has continued to play host to prominent citizens, Abia residents and Nigerians of other extractions, who flood his home to congratulate and felicitate him on his recent electoral victory. 


Otti was adjudged winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Abia by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


The Labour Party (LP) standard bearer won the election with 175,467 votes, beating his closest rivals the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Okechukwu Ahiwe, who scored 88,529 and Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Young Peoples Party (YPP), who got 28,972 votes.


One of the prominent visitors to his Umuehim, Nvosi, Isialangwa South, country home on Sunday was Bishop Sunday Onuoha, who competed against him for the governorship seat in Abia. Onuoha was candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).


The Methodist bishop, also Chairman of Vision Africa radio  had earlier sent a congratulatory message to  Otti, after he was declared winner of the Abia election on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, where he pledged his support. He said his visit was a follow-up. 


"Be assured of my full support, as your brother and friend, on this new journey to liberating Abia; and I look forward to working with you on this collective objective. We all anticipate that there will be a positive difference seen and felt across Abia anyi, and that you will create an environment of inclusiveness and steadfastness.


"Wishing you God’s wisdom, strength, direction, and guidance to deliver on your mandate to your people. I wish you more successful years in office. It’s time to write your name in gold. Once again, Congratulations Your Excellency!" the bishop had written.
