APC may be heading for implosion as President Muhammadu Buhari preferred consensus candidate, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan failed to attract a buy in from the 12 progressive governors from the North who advocates for power shift to the South

His choice has also sharply divided the NWC as some members resists the consensus arrangement.

It will be recalled that the   12 Progressive governors from the North rising from a meeting  Saturday, called for a power shift to the South in the interest of justice, equity and Nigeria's unity

Sources from the Presidency says the Aso Rock Cabal are pushing Buhari preference for Lawan to clinch the APC presidential ticket

At the National Working Committee,  NWC meeting Monday  of the APC, its National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, announced that after meeting with Buhari,   Lawan’s candidacy was selected as the consensus candidate.
