The factional leader of Abia APC,  Chief Ikechi Emenike, Thursday paid for Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest   for the governorship of Abia State in the 2023 election.

Emenike, journalist-turned politician had since his entry into politics ended up on the controversial side of Aba politics. A founding member of the PDP where he aspired for a Senate seat in 2003, but lost in the primaries.

From 2011, 2015 and 2019, election, he aspired for Abia governorship under different party platforms, and ended up  losing at the primaries and subsequently continuing the fight through the Courts.

Since 2019, after losing in the primaries to Uche Ogah, Emenike had sank his claws into Abia APC, a development which had split the party into two malnourished factions whose fate in the coming 2023 election is already predicted - second best .

With the coming of former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Abdulahi Adamu as APC's National Chairman, the APC factions  in Abia are looking forward to peace returning to the party
