The Convener of the New Nigeria Group (NNG), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has called for appropriate policies to help the Nigerian woman attain her full potentials

Ohuabunwa, a leading presidential Aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a goodwill message to the Nigerian Women on the occasion of 2022 International Women's Day (IWD) celebrations, noted that it has become imperative for the right legislation to be put in place in order for the women folk to achieve their full potentials in the society.

Ohuabunwa while acknowledging the milestones recorded by women in Nigeria , stated that "there is still room for greater achievement for the women if the cultural, religious and traditional barriers are cleared for them"

" In spite of the obstacles on their way, the Nigerian women have given good account of themselves in whatever field they found themselves and should be encouraged to push for more glory", the Presidential aspirant noted.

According to him, from academics, medicine, engineering, teaching, banking and finance, the Nigerian woman has shone like a star despite the obstacles on her way.

He therefore urged the women not to be disillusioned by the failure of the five gender bills at the just concluded debate on the amendment of the constitution by the National Assembly.

Ohuabunwa pledged to put the women affairs in the front burner if he picks the ticket of the PDP and eventually elected as the President of the country.

He noted that women has a critical role to play in the socioeconomic development 9f any society.

According to him, " my administration would lay strong emphasis on issues that would galvanize women to attain their full potentials and thus help in the rapid transformation of Nigeria to a country devoid of insecurity, poverty and unemployment".
