Nigeria Television Authority,  NTA Headquarters chapter of the Radio, Television and Art Workers Union (RATTAWU), Abuja, had honoured  the Commander-in-Chief of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Osman Muhammad Jahun PhD by conferring on him an Award of Excellence

The  Director General of Nigeria Television Authority, (NTA) Asabe Akmodi presented the award's plaque to the recipient at an impressive ceremony in Abuja

In his remarks during the event, the Director General, (General Directorate) NTA, Yacoub bin Muhammad

commended  the CG VGN for his hard work and effectiveness in combating the security challenges affecting Nigeria.

“Sir, we have singled you out for this honour, by conferring on you the 'Award for Excellence' in recognition of the zeal and determination you have displayed in tackling the current security challenges Nigeria is facing,” he said.

In his acceptance remarks, the CG applauded RATTAWU  and its members for finding him worthy to be so honoured and acknowledged  for his contributions to tackling insecurity in Nigeria. He  averred that the award would motivate him and his men  to do more  into the ongoing fight against  insurgency and insecurity in troubled areas of  Nigeria.

According to the Head of RATTAWU,  NTA Headquarters, Ukeme Udofa, the award is a tribute to those who have contributed to Nigeria’s development in various fields of human endeavour.
