Ahead its recently scheduled ward congresses, and State Convention, Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  from Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia state, rising from its leaders meeting on July 21, 2021 urged other Ikwuano sons and daughters irrespective of party affiliations to jettison retrogressive tendencies  and work for the betterment, development and progress of the LGA. 

"It is paramount for all sons and daughters of Ikwuano to work together irrespective of party affiliations for the betterment, development, and progress of Ikwuano in order to put a stop to the retrogressive tendencies that are bedeviling the Local Government Area due to leaders' inability to put the interest of Ikwuano first", the leaders stated in a communique issued after the crucial meeting which held at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja 

According to the communique other important decisions taken at the meeting includes scheduling the  meeting of its leaders stakeholders for July 27 and 28, 2021, at the LGA's party Secretariat, Isiala Oboro.

The leaders further advised all stakeholders  to mobilize all sons and daughters of Ikwuano, including non-indigenes resident in the LGA to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration, CVR  exercise, to ensure that Ikwuano boosts her voting strength both for political reasons and for other gains that can accrue therefrom

The leaders also reached a decisions concerning the scheduled ward congresses, and  advised that only  leaders and stakeholders of each ward shall take decisions on election of its ward executive.


Among signatories to the communique includes Rep Sam Onuigbo; Hon Emeka Atuma; Maj-Gen Jack Nwaogbo, ( rtd); Col Paul Omeruo, ( rtd); Mr Festus C. Egbulefu and several others.
