The House of Representatives will by March ending draw the curtains on the on-going process towards amendment of the Electoral Act No 6 of 2010(as Amended)0

According to the member representing Ikwuano/ UmuahiaNorth/South Federal  Constituency, Hon Sam Onuigbo in a post on his social media arm:

"On Tuesday, I participated in an important session of the Joint Committee on INEC and Electoral Matters which held at the National Assembly Complex. 

"During this important session, the Joint Technical Committee on INEC & Electoral Matters which I am a part of, presented its report on the Electoral Bill 2021.  A key element of what we are doing is to repeal the Act, and the enactment of the Electoral Act 2021.

"The Bill which will lead to the Electoral Act 2021 is scheduled for passage by end of March and will be given priority when we resume on 9th February, 2021

"It is important to point out that the outcome of the report is the product of the efforts of the Joint Committee of the Senate and the House on INEC and Electoral Matters".
