"Governor Nyesom Wike has mortgaged the future of Rivers people by his frivolous and ill-motivated borrowing habits"  says the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The APC  urged Gov. Wike to stop his worrisome habit. The party further queried what he did with the  unprecedented total of N90 billion he has so far obtained as  loan since becoming governor.

"These funds  have been deployed to questionable projects'', says State APC  Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone. The APC chieftain further
averred  that such monies were not  deployed for the interest of the people as public servants, pensioners as well as local government
council workers have gone for months without pay.

In a statement, Finebone gave a breakdown of the loans as follows:

June 11, 2015 =  N10 billion

June 30, 2015 =  N20 billion

July 8, 2015  =  N30 billion

Nov. 12, 2015 =  N10 billion.

April 8, 2016 =  N10 billion.

May 19, 2016 =   N10 billion

"Very worrisome is the fact that the governor lavishes a substantial portion of these loans on his personal pursuits and insatiable crave for mundane earthly pleasures and that of his friends.

“The governor shortly after obtaining the first set of loans purchased a needless N300 million luxury armoured mobile office. Even as that insensitive action has since set tongues wagging, the governor took his friends to Spain to watch the decisive UEFA Champions League match between Real Madrid and Wolsburg of Germany followed by a lavish party to celebrate Madrid’s 3-2 aggregate win because the governor is a fan of Real Madrid", Finebone maintains.
