* Ekwunife 
Pressure is digging furrows on the forehead of defecting  member of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Senator Uche Ekwunife as leaders of the  All Progressives Congress (APC) appear wary of her entry into the party.

 Sen Ekwunife who recently defected to the APC after losing her senatorial seat via a Court of Appeal verdict,  got the shock of her life at  the national secretariat of the APC as the national officers of the party kept her at arms length.

 Ekwunife,   accompanied by three of her aides was reportedly at APC National Secretariat 
 to lobby  key party leaders for her senatorial  aspiration.

 However, the   National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and  other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) played hide and seek with her.

 It was gathered that the NWC members do not want incur the wrath of APC strongman in Anambra State and Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige who appears unhappy with Ekwunife's defectiion into the party.

 The female lawmaker who had virually transversed all parties had beenn on a whirlwind consultations to get early endorsement for APC's  senate ticket for the re-run senatorial election for Anambra Central.
She reportedly arrived APC national Secretariat  about 1p.m. in a black colour Mercedez Viano, with registration number BWR 180 RP and was seen moving from one office to the other without any of the party officials attending to her.

 Her attempts to see the party's National Chairman proved abortive as it appears she had no appointment 

 Journalists who approached the defecting  legislator hoping to clarify some issues regarding her defection were stopped in their yracks as she said she was not ready to “talk to the media now.”

 It will ber recalled that Ekwunife said at the weekend that she joined the APC because the PDP was no longer interested in winning the Anambra Central senatorial election which is expected to hold in March.
She said part of her reason was to ensure that her people are well
and equitably represented and have a voice in the national government.
APC leader in Anambra,  the Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr.  Ngige, had hinted that  the former PDP senator would not be given an automatic ticket to contest for the Anambra Central senatorial election in March, 2016
