Contrary to his pledge to maintain the peace in Abia State and ensure that people go about their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation  from any quarters, Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu may have unleashed his supporters and thugs to disrupt peace and threaten lives and security in Abia State following the nullification of his election by the Court of Appeal Thursday December 31, 2015.

Theledgerng.com gathered that  Abian woke up  early hours of Saturday,  to see  hundreds of youths barricading  major roads in Aba, the State's major commercial and most populous City,  including the ever busy Port Harcourt Expressway. The rampaging youths were aslo witnessed destroying goods and properties in protest over the outcome of the Appeal Court verdict which ordered immediate swearing in of Alex Otti of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA as the duly elected governor of the State.

Ikpeazu had after hearing  of the judgement intimated that  he will be proceeding to the Supreme Court to challenge the decision. However, it is not certain  that the governor and his  lawyers had been able to get the Certified True Copies of the judgement.
